relief is a form of traditional Chinese reproduction
art. Most of them were actually reproduced from decorative stone paintings
found in memorial halls and tombstones. Stone relief originated from the
beginning of the Western Han dynasty, reaching the height of popularity
during the period stretching from the Eastern Han dynasty, Three Kingdoms
to the Jin dynasty, and has immense influence even after the Tang dynasty.
This art form is one of the important cultural heritage of ancient China.
